One of the annoyances about working in Microsoft Excel 2003/7 is that it doesn't automatically open Excel worksheets in a new window. I have tried the registry and file type hacks, but they won't work on my workstation. I would upgrade to Excel 2010, however my workstation is locked down by my employer and lacks the hardware requirements to run anything made after 2003. Here is a simple workaround to opening Excel spreadsheets in multiple windows.
How to Open Two Windows in Microsoft Excel 2003/7:
- Create a shortcut to Excel (place it in your taskbar or desktop)
- Open Excel
- Open Worksheet A (either by double clicking, File - Open, or drag and drop)
- Open Excel by clicking on your shortcut
- Open Worksheet B (either by File-Open or drag and drop)
